239 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children the energy costs incurred by his Department each year for the past three years in each of the energy sectors respectively; the use made of renewable energy; his further plans regarding same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Expenditure incurred by my Department in each of the past three years in the energy sectors was as follows:

1998	£82,963.02	£3,441.36	£15,854.01
1999	£93,101.41	£4,906.52	£11,636.25
2000	£94,161.32	£6,080.53	£20,076.37

Government policy on the use of renewable energy resources and the policy of the Office of Public Works in relation to energy conservation in its property portfolio, which includes the offices of my Department, is outlined in the response to this question put forward by my colleague the Minister for Finance.
