Vol. 537 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

251 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will investigate the case of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow who is on a waiting list since 23 January 2001 for a spinal fusion at Cappagh Hospital, Dublin; if the operation can be provided immediately; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15937/01]

The provision of services in the case to which the Deputy is referring is, in the first instance, the responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer at the board to look into the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
