289 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason inaccurate statements were made to the press in respect of the Kiltale group water supply regarding its compliance with the European Union directive on water quality. [15827/01]

The only statement issued by my Department in relation to this matter, on 23 February 2001, made no inaccurate statements in relation to the water supplied by the Kiltale group water scheme.
