83 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when the proposed 10 million fund for acquiring artefacts of significant heritage value will be established; if legislation will be required; if so, if the legislation has been approved by the Government; when she expects to publish such legislation; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [15723/01]

The Bill to provide for the establishment of a heritage fund to build up resources for an overall limit of 10 million was circulated to Deputies and Senators on 12 April 2001 and I hope the debate on the Second Stage of the Bill can commence this session.
