Vol. 537 No. 2

Written Answers. - Energy Costs.

David Stanton

Question:

120 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the energy costs incurred by his Department each year for the past three years in each of the energy sectors, respectively; the use made of renewable energy; his further plans regarding same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15850/01]

My Department is involved in a broad range of activities throughout the country and is responsible for energy costs at offices or other accommodation in excess of 100 locations.

The administrative effort in compiling the information is therefore substantial and would require the diversion of scarce staff resources from higher priority work. In the circumstances, the Department will collate information on a broad aggregate basis and will communicate further with the Deputy.
