Question:

128 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the closing date for inclusion in the supplementary register for the forthcoming referendums; the number of ads taken out to publicise the closing date for inclusion in the supplementary register for the forthcoming referendums; the dates and media in which these were placed; the cost of each ad; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16495/01]

The latest date for receipt of applications by registration authorities from persons seeking to be included in the supplement to the register of electors for the forthcoming referendums was 21 May 2001. Advertising was undertaken in the print media to publicise the supplement facility including the latest date for receipt of applications. The cost of the campaign was £41,403.42. Details of the publications and the dates of the advertisements are set out in the following table:
