Vol. 538 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Station Facilities.

Billy Timmins

Question:

279 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position regarding the provision of a one way glass screen for Bray Garda station and all other Garda stations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17680/01]

I am aware of the concerns that can arise where persons who have been victims of crime are requested to carry out identifications in Garda stations. At the same time, however, it must be borne in mind that this is an area where important legal requirements must be observed. In the circumstances, the Deputy will appreciate that the matter he has raised gives rise to complex issues and they are being kept under review.
