Vol. 538 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Repairs.

Liam Aylward

Question:

115 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in having approval issued to the board of management of a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny to allow them proceed with the re-roofing of this school; and if he will seek a revised report in relation to the two boilers in the school which are equally defective and which must be replaced before the new school term. [18203/01]

My Department has approved, in principle, the re-roofing works at the school to which the Deputy refers, and will be in contact with the school's management authority shortly regarding the timing of the works. Tenders will shortly be invited for the replacement of one of the boilers at the school. A report to my Department suggests that the other boiler may not require replacement at this time. This latter issue will be clarified with the school's management authority.
