75 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 218 of 12 June 2001, he will give an exact date on which payments of 2001 ewe premium will commence. [18226/01]

The controls and checks which are necessary before payment of the first instalment of the 2001 ewe premium can be made are ongoing and it is not possible at this stage to give the precise date on which payments can commence.
