Vol. 538 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John Perry

Question:

88 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange to have verified the diagnosis in the case of a person (details supplied); if he will establish the root cause of this person's debilitating illness; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18253/01]

Responsibility for the provision of services at Sligo General Hospital rests with the North-Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

Alan Shatter

Question:

89 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason health boards have not advised Deputy Shatter of the number of bed days lost during the year 2000 as a result of bed closures; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the only health board which has to date furnished the information is the Midland Health Board; and if he will take such action as is necessary to ensure the information sought is forwarded without further delay. [18261/01]

I have reminded the regional chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the chief executive officer of the outstanding health boards to forward their replies to his question of 30 May directly to him as a matter of urgency.
