Vol. 539 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

100 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he has decided which hospital will become the marine dedicated hospital. [18978/01]

Regulation 9(1) of S.I. 506 of 1997, which transposes into Irish law Council Directive 92/29 concerning the minimum health and safety requirements for improved medical treatment on board vessels, provides that the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources may designate a radio medical consultation centre to provide workers with free medical advice by radio. I expect to be in a position shortly to make such a designation.
