The problem in regard to some farmers who were selected for extensification premium inspection is not a technical one requiring the upgrading of a computer programme. The problem is that discrepancies were found between the numbers of animals declared by some farmers for one or more of five census dates selected for 2000 extensification premium and those found at inspection. The cases involved are being checked in regard to other census dates and following this a decision will be made on whether or not the farmers involved should be considered for extensification premium.
A total of 263 farmers nationwide have not been paid because of discrepancies between declared animals and those found at inspection. A county breakdown of the 263 cases is as follows:
