Vol. 539 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Ellis

Question:

345 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if her Department will now pay the balance of de-stocking premium to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [18765/01]

This person was paid compensation under the commonage de-stocking scheme of £575 in 1999 and £507 in 2000. The compensation was paid by my Department on the basis of figures supplied by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.

He subsequently wrote to my Department querying the amount of compensation he had been paid, following which my Department confirmed with the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development that the figures they had supplied were correct. This information was conveyed to the claimant who has been invited to forward further evidence if he remains of the view that a balance is still due to him.
