Vol. 540 No. 1

Written Answers. - DART Service.

Liz McManus

Question:

181 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if her attention has been drawn to the price difference of DART tickets for journeys from Dublin to Bray and journeys from Dublin to Greystones; if her attention has further been drawn to the fact that there is a price difference of £9 for ten journey tickets and there is a price difference of £1 for a single journey ticket; the action she intends to take to redress this imbalance; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [19632/01]

I have been advised by Iarnród Éireann that fares are charged on a zonal basis on the suburban rail network in the greater Dublin area. This system has been the practice since the early 1970s. I understand that, based on this long standing practice, the fare to Bray is in Zone J while Greystones is in Zone E.
