472 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the school building programme for the Model School, North Road, Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19639/01]

My Department has recently advised the chairperson of the Model School, North Road, Monaghan, to appoint a design team to initiate architectural planning for a building programme at the school.

The application for refurbishment and additional accommodation at Rackwallace national school is being processed as quickly as possible having regard to the large volume of such applications being dealt with at present. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

Architectural planning is currently at an advanced stage for the refurbishment of Rockcorry Church of Ireland National School. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

Architectural planning is currently at an advanced stage for the building project at St. Michael's national school, Corcaghan, County Monaghan. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.

476 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding an application by Gaelscoil Cholmcille, Dublin 9, for a new school; if he will assist the school in finding a suitable site; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19681/01]

The property management section of the Office of Public Works is acting on behalf of my Department in relation to site acquisitions generally and is currently exploring the possibility of acquiring a site for Gaelscoil Cholmcille, Dublin 9.

477 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding an application by a national school (details supplied) in Dublin 5 to upgrade their school buildings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19682/01]

My Department has received an application for grant aid for improvement works at the school referred to by the Deputy. However, in view of the very large number of school building projects being dealt with by my Department at present, it is not possible at this point to provide a time-scale as to when improved facilities will be provided at this school. The matter will be kept under review.
