522 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has approved the provision of additional temporary classrooms at Gainstown national school, County Westmeath; if he will approve the provision of a permanent extension to this school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20205/01]

My Department has informed the board of management of Gainstown national school that funding has been approved for the provision of three additional temporary classrooms. This accommodation will be provided as quickly as possible. In view of the large number of school building projects being dealt with by my Department it is not possible to provide a timeframe for the provision of the permanent accommodation.

523 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding the provision of additional facilities at St. Mary's CBS secondary school, Mullingar, County Westmeath. [20206/01]

My Department recently received Stage 4/5 (Detail Design/Contract Documents) in relation to the provision of additional facilities at St. Mary's CBS secondary school, Mullingar, County Westmeath. This submission is currently being examined within the building unit of my Department.

525 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if progress has been made in the provision of a gymnasium at Columba College, Mullingar, County Westmeath. [20208/01]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 524 and 525 together.

My Department has not received an application for the provision of a lift and other facilities or the provision of a gymnasium at Columba College, Mullingar, County Westmeath. However, should County Westmeath Vocational Education Committee wish to make an application, officials from my Department will be happy to assist.

526 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress made concerning the provision of new classrooms and other facilities at Our Lady's Bower Secondary School, Athlone, County Westmeath. [20209/01]

The building unit of my Department is awaiting a reply from Our Lady's Bower Secondary School, Athlone, County Westmeath, in relation to a feasibility study carried out at the school. The school has also sought a re-assess ment of the long-term enrolment figures as proposed by the planning section of my Department.

When the reviewed planning figures are to hand the building unit will be in direct contact with the school.

527 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Education and Science if funding will be made available for the extension of a school (details supplied) in County Limerick. [20210/01]

Architectural planning has commenced for an extension at the school referred to by the Deputy. My Department is currently awaiting an initial submission from the school's design team and when this is received it will be progressed as quickly as possible, having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department at present.
