319 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the total amount paid to consultancy or public relations firms in the past 12 months in respect of the promotion of the work of the Minister or his Office; the number of persons engaged in public relations or consultancy work on a full-time basis and on a part-time basis in his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The amount of expenditure paid to consultancy – PR firms in respect of PR work carried out on my behalf and on behalf of my Department over the past 12 months is £56,562.17.

The press and information office in my Department is staffed by a press officer, engaged on a consultancy basis, a higher executive officer, a staff officer and a clerical officer.
