391 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Finance the total funds that were made available to the Government by the national lottery since it was initiated in 1987 giving a breakdown of the amount provided for the different Departments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21852/01]
The total amount of national lottery moneys made available to the Government each year since 1987 is set out on the following table. For presentation purposes, it has been the practice to supply a breakdown of spending between the main beneficiary categories, for example, youth, sport, recreation, amenities, as there is a certain degree of overlap between them. As can be seen from the table, the total amount of money raised since 1987 is almost £1.2 billion.
