Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Occupational Therapist Service.

Michael Ring

Question:

511 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo must wait 18 months for assessment by an occupational therapist in order for her to obtain aids for her home; and his views on whether this is an acceptable level of service. [21682/01]

As the provision of occupational therapy services to eligible persons in County Mayo is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board, I have again asked the chief executive officer of that board to investigate the position in this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
