592 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps he will take to introduce training for doctors in hospitals and in the community who come into contact with women who have been physically or sexually abused. [22094/01]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

Responsibility for education and training of doctors lies with the training institutions and service providers. I will write to the training institutions and the health boards to bring to their notice the issues and concerns raised by the published research findings.
