Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Michael Ring

Question:

628 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the difficulties experienced by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in securing admission to hospital. [22209/01]

The Deputy will appreciate that the scheduling of hospital admissions is solely a matter for the relevant hospital to determine based upon clinical priority.

I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer at the Western Health Board, which has responsibility for the provision of services in the case to which the Deputy is referring, to look into the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
