706 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason it is not proposed to exempt pedelecs, or electrically assisted pedal cycles, from road tax; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that such bicycles have an upper speed limit of only 25 kph which is the average speed of push bikes; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that there is no air pollution emitted; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
