Written Answers. - Euro Changeover.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

718 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the extent to which his Department is prepared for the introduction of the euro; if he will ensure that the replies to future parliamentary questions show all monetary values in euros and pounds; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21899/01]

My Department's preparations for the introduction of the euro are proceeding satisfactorily, in accordance with its euro changeover plan. The Department complies fully with the standard reporting and monitoring arrangements adopted by the Government. I have asked my Department to arrange that, except where the context requires otherwise, all monetary values in replies to parliamentary ques tions will be shown as requested up to 1 January next and for a reasonable period thereafter.
