Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Roads Projects.

Phil Hogan

Question:

726 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has received a submission from Kilkenny County Council to have a road (details supplied) included in the five year non-national roads plan for the county; when approval will be given to have urgent and necessary road improvements carried out at this location; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21956/01]

My Department recently approved Kilkenny County Council's application to amend its 2001 restoration improvement programme. One of the amendments was the provision of £27,489 to allow the council to carry out road reconstruction work from Grace's Lane to Ballyhall Road in the current year. I understand from Kilkenny County Council that this work will be carried out shortly.
