Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Office.

Phil Hogan

Question:

817 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the arrangements for the re-opening of an office to deal with social welfare queries and payments in Callan, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21974/01]

Services from the social welfare branch office in Callan were suspended in May 1999. Since then the services involved have been provided by the Department's Kilkenny office. Until the issues which gave rise to the closure of the office have been fully resolved, it is not possible to finalise arrangements for delivery of services there in the future.
