Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Pat Carey

Question:

911 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has received a request from the Garda authorities regarding the provision of a new Garda station at Finglas, Dublin 11, or a request that discussions take place with the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs about the relocation of the existing Garda station to the existing local employment office in Finglas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21938/01]

As I indicated in my reply to Question No. 408 on 15 May last, a number of options require to be considered fully by the Garda authorities and by the Office of Public Works, to improve matters at Finglas Garda station. I am informed by the Office of Public Works, however, that the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs has no plans to vacate the building mentioned by the Deputy.
