Question:

1102 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education and Science his response to the issues raised in correspondence sent to his Department by the Dublin 7 Educate Together national school (details supplied); and the assistance he can give to the school regarding their accommodation requirements. [21805/01]

My Department has received a submission from the management authorities of Dublin 7 Educate Together national school in relation to permanent accommodation. The long-term accommodation requirements of the school are being considered and my Department will be in contact with the school authorities as quickly as possible. It is not possible at this stage to say when a site will be acquired for the school.

Question:

1103 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Education and Science when he will extend Castlehackett national school, Belclare, Tuam, County Galway; the position with this application; if his attention has been drawn to the poor facilities and the overcrowding at this school; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that there are portacabins without toilets; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21806/01]

Architectural planning for the work at the school referred to by the Deputy is under way at present. It is not possible at this point to say when construction will commence. The school authorities will be informed of developments.
