1130 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the necessity to improve safety in and around the vicinity of Gainstown national school, Mullingar, County Westmeath (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22188/01]

Architectural planning for the provision of a bus pull-in and car parking facilities at Gainstown national school is under way. It is not possible to say at this point when the work will commence. The school authorities will be informed of developments.
