Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

1150 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will confirm a grant for an organisation (details supplied) in Dublin 2; if his Department is satisfied that it has received all the necessary details in relation to the application and that no further information is required in order to confirm before the end of the year to this organisation that it will receive the grant of £30,000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22345/01]

A grant-in aid of £18,366 is being allowed towards the cost of the special project for youth run by the organisation in question in the current year. Due to the large number of applications received, it was not possible to allocate the full amount sought by the organisation. Application forms for the year 2002 will issue to all administering agencies and it will be open to the organisation in question to re-apply next year. This application can then be considered together with the other applications received in the context of the funds available for the scheme in 2002.
