1153 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding a proposed extension to Drumkeerin vocational school, County Leitrim. [22393/01]

My Department issued a schedule of accommodation for Drumkeerin vocational school to the County Leitrim Vocational Education Committee on 12 July 2001. In order to determine the future accommodation requirements at this school, written confirmation of acceptance of this schedule must be submitted to the post primary building unit of my Department. This correspondence is awaited.

1154 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding a proposed extension and upgrading of Carrigallen vocational school, County Leitrim. [22394/01]

My Department issued a schedule of accommodation for Carrigallen vocational school to the County Leitrim Vocational Education Committee on 8 November 2000. To determine the future accommodation requirements at this school, written confirmation of acceptance of this schedule must be submitted to the post primary building unit of my Department. This correspondence is awaited.

1155 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding a proposed extension to Drumshambo vocational school, County Leitrim. [22395/01]

An official from my Department visited Drumshanbo vocational school on Thursday, 27 September 2001. His brief was: (a) to determine the future use of the existing accommodation at the school, and (b) to quantify the level, if applicable, of any extra accommodation required. His report will be issued shortly to the County Leitrim Vocational Education Committee for their approval.

1156 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position concerning the proposed extension to Curranes national school, Castleisland, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22396/01]

Architectural planning for improved accommodation at Curranes national school is under way. It is not possible at this point to say when construction will commence. The school authorities will be informed of developments.
