Vol. 541 No. 4

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

206 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the American Embassy in Dublin operates a system where some applicants for visa have to make double payments of the visa application fee of £38 and that no facilities for refunds are available even where such applicants produced their copies of the original receipt for payment; and if he will raise the issue with the American Embassy. [23050/01]

The Deputy will appreciate that the procedures for US visa applications are a matter solely for the US authorities. However, I am prepared to have the issue in question raised with the US Embassy and, once a response is received, I will write to the Deputy.
