Vol. 541 No. 4

Written Answers. - Cattle Passports.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

228 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the delay in returning cattle cards to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [22761/01]

The herd in question was restricted following the disclosure of three TB reactors at an inconclusive retest on 14 July. While a completion test was carried out on 2 August, the first reactor retest was carried out on 20 September and, in accordance with normal procedures, a second reactor retest is due on 1 November next. If this test is clear, then the herd will be derestricted and the cattle passports will be returned to the herdowner.
