Vol. 541 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

239 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a full extensification grant payment for 2000 has not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; when a payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22841/01]

A payable order for £883.66 – 1,122.02 – being the entire amount of 2000 extensification premium due to the person named will issue within the next two weeks. In addition, an amount of £23.12 – 29.36 – due in euro compensation top-up will also issue at the same time.

John Perry

Question:

240 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will have a 2001 area aid and extensification payment for a person (details supplied) released; the reason for the delay in issuing the payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22906/01]

The person named was paid his full entitlement under the 2001 area based compensatory allowance scheme on 25 September 2001. Under EU regulations governing extensification premium, payment may only issue where the stocking density of the holding is up to and including 2.0 livestock units per hectare.

The stocking density of the holding of the person named for the purposes of 2000 extensification premium was 2.92 livestock units per hectare. Payment of 2001 extensification premium is not scheduled to commence until June 2002.
