Question:

370 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the amount of capital grants given to Cork Opera House by her Department on an annual basis since 1994. [22836/01]

Cork Opera House received capital grants of £352,457.60, 447,528, in 1997 and £22,542.40, 28,622, in 1998 from my Department. The grants were made under the CDIS, cultural development incentive support, scheme part funded by the EU under the tourism operational programme, 1994-99.

Question:

371 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the grants which may be available from her Department for the restoration of musical instruments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [23079/01]

There are no grants available from my Department for the restoration of musical instruments. However, I understand that An Chomhairle Ealaíon has a scheme for the purchase and maintenance of musical instruments.
