418 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the numbers awaiting legal aid at each of the public offices in County Offaly; and the duration of the waiting period in each case. [23140/01]

I can inform the Deputy that the number of persons on the waiting list at Tullamore law centre on 31 August 2001 was 23 and the average waiting time for appointment with a solicitor was six weeks.

I can inform the Deputy that the number of persons on the waiting list at Portlaoise law centre on 31 August 2001 was six persons and the average waiting time for appointment with a solicitor was one week.
