Vol. 541 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Seán Ryan

Question:

467 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will report on the need to appoint a remedial teacher for Scoil An Duinnínigh, Feltrim Road, Swords, County Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22808/01]

The school referred to by the Deputy currently has the services of a learning support teacher who is shared with one other school in the area. All available learning support teacher posts have been allocated as part of the process of extending the service to every primary school in the country with a pupil teacher ratio of 10:1 or above. I assure the Deputy that the needs of the school in question will be taken fully into account in the event of additional learning support teacher posts becoming available for distribution.
