482 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the provision of a lap-top computer for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22923/01]
I am aware of the application for computer equipment referred to by the Deputy. Allocations of funding for the purchase of such equipment are made on the basis of the assessed needs of the individual pupils involved. I understand that my Department's inspectorate has requested additional information from the school authorities in order to fully consider the application. Once this information is received and the inspectorate has reported, officials of my Department will be in contact with the school authorities.
