27 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he received from Kerry County Council a proposal for extension and development of Scraggane Pier, Maharees, County Kerry; and if so, when a decision will be made on this application. [23406/01]
Scraggane Pier is owned by Kerry County Council and its repair and maintenance is the responsibility of the local authority in the first instance. The pier is included on the list of piers and harbours projects, submitted by the county council to my Department for funding support. The scope for funding for works at Scraggane Pier and other locations in County Kerry will be kept under review by my Department, in consultation with Kerry County Council, in light of available resources in coming years.
