Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Coveney – the legalisation of cannabis for medical purposes; (2) Deputy Seán Ryan – the proposed purchase of helicopters for the Air Corps with particular reference to entering into an offset contract as part of the deal; (3) Deputy Connaughton – the delay in the processing of applications for registration at the Land Registry office; (4) Deputy Neville – the report of the Inspector of Mental Hospitals; (5) Deputy Flanagan – the collapse of the Independent Insurance Group in the United Kingdom and the consequences for Irish business; (6) Deputy Dukes – the detailed provisions for the resumption of Irish beef exports to Egypt; (7) Deputy Fitzgerald – the crisis in Dublin's maternity hospitals; (8) Deputy Ellis – the closure of the AIBP boning facility at Dromod in Leitrim with the loss of 70 jobs; (9) Deputy Enright – the number of persons who have been reported missing and who have been abducted or murdered; (10) Deputy Breeda Moynihan-Cronin – the failure to provide ambulance and paramedic services in the Kenmare and south Kerry areas for 11 hours on Friday night last; (11) Deputy Upton – the need to provide additional protection for consumers having refurbishment work done to their homes.

The matters raised by Deputies Flanagan, Breeda Moynihan-Cronin, Connaughton and Enright have been selected for discussion.
