Michael Ring

Question:

295 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo had an appointment for 3 October 2001 in Galway Regional Hospital cancelled. [23819/01]

The provision of medical services in this case is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.

Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the assistance available to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 from his Department or any agencies or bodies under the aegis of his Department or from organisations receiving assistance from his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of health services in the Dublin area is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate this case and respond directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

297 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding an Alzheimer's unit (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23821/01]

I have made inquiries of the North Western Health Board regarding the development of an Alzheimer's unit at Carndonagh District Hospital, County Donegal. I understand from the board that the design team brief has been completed and that a planning application for the unit was submitted to Donegal County Council last month.

298 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Longford will be admitted to Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, for surgery. [23822/01]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of County Longford rests with the Midland Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the health board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
