327 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will immediately grant a medical card to a person (details supplied) in Kilkenny; the reason the medical card was withdrawn; the changes which have occurred to warrant it being withdrawn; and if the full circumstances of the case will be re-examined and a decision expedited. Determination of the eligibility of persons for medical cards is, by legislation, the responsibility of the chief executive officer of the relevant health board, in this case the South-Eastern Health Board. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's question to him, asked that he have the case investigated and that he reply directly to the Deputy when the investigation is complete.
