Vol. 542 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Board Capital Projects.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

358 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Health and Children the amount of funding he has made available under the national development plan in 2001 for capital developments in the region; the projects which have been approved; the amounts of money allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24314/01]

The funding projected for the North-Eastern Health Board for 2001 under the national development plan amounted to £18.7 million, 23.7 million. The board has primary responsibility for the implementation of the plan within its area, including the prioritisation and delivery of capital projects, in agreement with my Department. Given the range and scope of individual projects approved under the NDP, it would not be practical for me to provide the details sought by the Deputy in relation to each project. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's inquiry to the chief executive officer of the North-Eastern Health Board for his attention and direct reply.
