Vol. 542 No. 2

Written Answers. - Compensation Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

420 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when a person (details supplied) in County Galway will be paid compensation as a result of being prohibited from turf cutting. [23856/01]

My Department received an application for compensation from the named person at the beginning of this month. The documentation provided by the applicant is being examined by Dúchas, the heritage service of my Department. Further clarification is required and Dúchas is getting in touch with the applicant. When the clarification sought is received, the application will be processed without delay.
