Vol. 542 No. 3

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Liz McManus

Question:

123 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties being experienced by a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow in accessing a training place with an organisation due to the lack of suitable transport available to this person; if he will ensure transport is provided for this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24405/01]

Following dissolution of the National Rehabilitation Board on 12 June 2000, responsibility for rehabilitative training for people with disabilities transferred to the health boards. Consequently, I have asked the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate this case and to reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
