Pat Carey

Question:

189 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science if the discussions on a proposed management structure for a school hall (details supplied) in Dublin 11 have been finalised; the proposed structure, indicating the amount of community access envisaged; and when construction of the hall will begin. [24508/01]

Following extensive consultation with the parties interested in this project, agreement has been reached on the issue of community access to the hall. Detailed discussions on the proposed management structure for the hall are continuing. The Deputy will appreciate that there has been a massive and unprecedented increase in the funds allocated by this Government to the schools building programme at all levels.

Decisions relating to the rate of progress to construction of projects, including the school hall referred to by the Deputy, will be taken in the light of the allocations to be made for school building purposes in the forthcoming Estimates.
