Vol. 542 No. 3

Written Answers. - Rural Transport Initiative.

Austin Deasy

Question:

20 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she will ensure that an application for a pre-development grant by the Passage East and Crooke Development Association under the rural transport initiative is approved. [24317/01]

The rural transport initiative is being administered by area development management – ADM – on behalf of my Department based on selection criteria which have been agreed by me in consultation with the Public Transport Partnership Forum.

The closing date for applications under the initiative was 17 September 2001 and the proposals received are now being assessed by ADM in line with the eligibility and other criteria governing the initiative. Neither I nor my Department has any involvement in the selection process.
