Written Answers. - Electricity Pylons.
I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 97 of 8 March 2001. My Department monitors all relevant research on this topic closely. It is not the practice in this country to allow the construction of new homes under electricity transmission lines nor are new transmission lines allowed overhang existing houses. My Department's chief technical adviser would be glad to brief the Deputy in greater detail if he so wishes.
