Vol. 542 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water Supply.

Seamus Kirk

Question:

156 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will consider modifications to the regulations in relation to the grants scheme for a private water supply in order that, in a situation where the maximum grant was not paid, a subsequent application could be made within the ten years and the remainder of the grant paid. [24659/01]

Last year, in accordance with a recommendation of the national rural water monitoring committee, I approved a reduction from ten to seven years in the eligibility timeframe for repeat applications for individual water grants. I have no proposals at this time to further modify the grant scheme.
