Vol. 542 No. 4

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Jim Higgins

Question:

175 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason an application by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo for a search in the Land Registry office is delayed. [24707/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that there is no record of an application for a search as quoted by the Deputy. I am further informed that, as a result of the Deputy's inquiry, the Land Registry has been in contact with the solicitors named by the Deputy in relation to this matter and the Land Registry awaits their response.

Question:

176 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason for the delay in registering a folio (details supplied) in County Mayo. [24708/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that these applications for conversion of title with a charge and three partial releases were lodged on 10 April 2001. Dealing Nos. D2001SM002862N and D2001SM002526W refer. I am further informed that dealing No. D2001SM002862N, which is the application for conversion of title, has been passed to an examiner of titles. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications for conversion of title can take some time to process. Accordingly, it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.

I have also been informed by the Land Registry that dealing No. D2001SM002862N must be brought to a satisfactory conclusion before dealing No. D2001SM002526W can proceed.
