201 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department proposes to make concessions to temporary and substitute teachers who seek appropriate recognition in terms of salary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24719/01]
A claim that an incremental pay scale be introduced for teachers serving in a substitute or part-time capacity is before the Teachers Conciliation Council. As issues before the council are a matter solely for the council it would not be appropriate for me to make a statement on the matter at this time.
